Portree on the Isle of Skye

The Isle of Skye at the small town of Portree. There is this lovely little row of buildings that run along the harbor edge, painted in different colours. This view of them was taken from a high advantage point showing the reflection of the colours in the water.

Art Photography used in vacant shop window

Art Photography used to cover vacant shop windows in hight street. This is a great idea. So, instead of having an empty shop window with no displays in a vacant shop, and there are quite a few of those around in the high streets these days, use a photograph to cover the whole area of the window.I was approached and asked if a photograph I had taken and published could be used to the job in Yarm High street by Visit, I was happy to oblige.

So, here it is and I think it looks great, certainly better than having an empty shop window and gosh, they have even given me a credit line.

Wedding couple pose for Photographs

Having photographed the wedding ceremony and the guests had congratulated the newlyweds. I asked if the wedding couple would like to pose for some photographs in the garden at the Bowburn Hall. Having checked out the gardens I already knew where I wanted the couple to pose. At this time of year, the sun is quite low and thought this would be useful to me and shoot into the sun in order to create sunbursts. With a fill-in flash set low and my exposer set so as not to burn out the highlights. I took several photographs.

Singer Performer Studio Portrait

Francine Sings poses for a location studio shoot at her home with a double bass. With the black background set up, I use a blue jell over the backlight and side backlight to aluminate her hair and the double bass.

The Shine Festival commission shoot

Commission to photograph the Shine Festival event at Middlesbrough Town Hall.
Once a year musicians & singers gather to showcase their performances. The Shine Festival celebrates the quality and diversity of all the participants making music in the Tees Valley. From singers & choirs to rock bands and school groups, performers of all ages and abilities come together to Shine!

When The Rain Stopped

There was my opportunity to take some posed photos of Carl & Kimberley outside at The Sporting Lodge. Having checked out a good background earlier I knew where to have the newlyweds positioned.

Using a 200mm at F2.8 with a bit of processing in PhotoShop I captured the wedding couple at ease with the out of focus background. Please do view their wedding gallery

Reportage style company portraits

Commissioned by Tees Valley Community Foundation to photograph the team at the office.
Rather than photograph individuals looking at the camera, the idea here is to capture team members as they work and engage in conversation. Using available light and a 200 mm lens at f2.8, I am able to photograph the subjects unobtrusively.

Barchester Healthcare Shoot

Commissioned by PR Manager Tiffany Nicole at Barchester Healthcare to photograph the team & staff at Briardene Care Home in Billingham celebrating their award for Outstanding Achievement.

Infinity Bridge Stockton on Tees

The Infinity Bridge at Stockton on Tees I have been waiting for the river Tees to be still enough to capture the reflection of Infinity. Finally, the moment happened. I grabbed the camera and got to the location on the Durham University side of the river. I managed to take this photograph as the sun was setting over Stockton on Tees, within 10/15 minutes a little breeze took the reflection away.
